Here at Hadaway & Denton we are continuing to provide 24 hour support to our families at this time. This time is consistently being described as ‘difficult’ in the media and we know that it is more than ‘difficult’ for many when we are all in different situations and dealing with different challenges. We are adhering to government guidelines with regards to Covid-19 and regrettably this means there are some things we cannot continue to provide such as home arrangements and limousines for the time being. The guidelines include:

Limiting numbers of mourners to attended services to no more than 10

Arranging funerals by telephone, email or Skype

Limiting viewings to those in the same household whilst adhering to the 2-metre distance advice within our premises.

It saddens us to not be able to meet all of our families for the arrangements where we get to know each other. There are a number of things to consider though that help at this time; you can access a direct feed to the funeral service at the local crematorium via a webcast link so those who cannot attend in person can watch at home, you can receive a recording of the service a few days after the funeral so it can be shared as a file to family and friends and we can arrange a memorial service at a later date with loved ones’ ashes. It may also be important for me to note that there aren’t any particular delays to funerals going ahead presently and there are choices of days and times to suit families needs. In terms of our services, we are trying our best to support our families in every way that we normally would, with the exception of face to face arrangements or home arrangements. We are still offering viewing (this is restricted to two people at one time and we are using precautions within our premises) and we are still providing full care of your loved ones including dressing and embalming if desired. We want to reassure our families of our upmost consideration of hygiene and our high standards of care with regards to disinfecting routines.

There is more information on the government website on attendance to funerals if you wanted to read more: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-guidance-for-managing-a-funeral-during-the-coronavirus-pandemic/covid-19-guidance-for-managing-a-funeral-during-the-coronavirus-pandemic

Finally, we want to note we are here with our same personal and reliable service; we are a family firm so when you call our number you get straight through to one of us and we can deal with your enquiry there and then or give you advice and reassurance at any time.

Take care and stay safe,

Carl and Jo
